We recently teamed up with Sea Ray for the launch of a new boat builder tool for their website. Midcoast started this initial phase of the builder by leveraging (and retouching) existing photography for each boat series. Utilizing existing photography enabled us to maximize creative for Sea Ray, while respecting budget constraints. With numerous product and color configurations available across their lineup of boats, and a high demand for marketing-ready visual content for promotion at upcoming trade-shows (such as the Miami Boat show), we worked with Sea Ray’s marketing team to create additional models in CGI, working directly from engineering CAD files. Building from Sea Ray CAD files ensured both product accuracy and visual consistency across Sea Ray’s brand imagery.
Throughout the process, collaboration with several departments at Sea Ray was key — product development, engineering, and marketing teams assisted in ensuring that every aspect of the boat builder and website content was representative of the Sea Ray brand. This work can be seen not only on SeaRay.com, but will be utilized throughout event marketing activities at the International Dusseldorf Boat Show, upcoming Miami Boat show, and more. Overall, the benefits for Sea Ray have been significant: not only has consistency across brand and marketing visuals improved, but the boat builder has already been recognized as a valuable selling tool, realizing more than a three-fold increase in leads for the brand within two months of launch.
